Modernism Revisited: Typology - Topography - Strategy Conference
Modernism Revisited: Typology - Topography - Strategy Conference will take place 21–23 October 2026 in Trenčín, Slovakia and explore new perspectives on modern architecture, urbanism, and landscape in the context of contemporary social and ecological challenges.
The event is organised in partnership with DOCOMOMO Slovakia and held under the auspices of the Slovak Chamber of Architects, ICOMOS Slovakia and DOCOMOMO International.
The conference invites scholars, architects, planners, educators, researchers, and policymakers to reflect on how modern architecture, landscape, and planning visions can be reinterpreted and reactivated in the twenty-first century. The conference seeks an interdisciplinary dialogue across time and scale—linking architectural form with territorial context, and historical experience with contemporary and future scenarios.
A call for abstracts has been launched, with contributions invited under the three themes:
Typology - Repurposed
Topography - Remodeled
Strategy - Reinvented
Deadline for abstract submission extended to 28 February 2026.
