Who we are

  • Docomomo Montenegro was founded in December 2024 and was verified at the 18th annual DOCOMOMO International Council Meeting (12 December 2024) in Santiago, Chile, making it one of 80 national chapters from around the world.

  • The team from Montenegro consists of 21 members, who in various ways have been involved and contributed in identification, research and promotion of the modernist architectural heritage in Montenegro during the past decades.

  • This involves members of the academia such as full and assistant professors from the state university, full time architects actively engaged in the variety of projects across the country, architects directly invested in the discipline of heritage preservation as the primary activity, the museum curators as well as the ministerial staff as a direct institutional link to the state bodies.

  • This is why we believe that the professional backup that we offer may benefit the enhanced prospects of the modernist heritage preservation in Montenegro on different levels and scales.

  • Furthermore, we believe that our members from various branches will contribute the wider promotion and dissemination of the values the modernist heritage possess, successfully distributing it across different institutional and non-institutional levels, aiming for a wider impact of the organization.
